So on Sunday I went and traded off my 2014 Camaro SS. Traded it for a new 2017 Camaro SS, auto and BLUE! I’m a huge sucker for a blue car.

That shade of blue is absolutely gorgeous! Good job!

Auto? Prepare to be shunned.

Blue is a great colour especially when it’s metallic or pearlescent.
Mine is a fine flake metallic but looks great in the sun.

Not to nit-pick here but no manual

Nice car! I’ve been considering selling my GTO and getting one, but I just can’t find it in myself to take on a big car payment for a car that’s only slightly faster. The 6th gen is so much better than the huge (to me) 5th gen. I’ve been looking at that color and the lighter blue color.

GM can really make a blue that fills me with desire.

Thanks, it really pops in the sun

They can but they usually drop it after a couple months. For reasons I never understand.

I too am a blue fan, and that particular blue really does it for me. Congrats.

Yeah it’s so much more quicker and nimble than my 5th gen i traded in. While the 5th gen was an awesome car, this thing is just better.

Meh, my 68 is a manual, I run in a late model drag series and this auto shifts far faster than I ever could for drag racing: plus it’s nice for my work commute of traffic.

Is that Hyper Blue?

I’m pretty jelly. Seen one exactly like this with black rally stripes and fell in love this weekend. I love my rally yellow 2010 but damn that blue is fantastic.

Love the color
Hate the trans

I’ve always had an issue with how high the belt line is on these cars but man, that looks nice. Good luck with it!

Is it the same auto they put in the SS? I test drove a manual 2017 Camaro SS and an auto SS last spring, and was surprised at how much I like the auto. I was also pretty rusty on the manual, so I’m certain that contributed to my experience.

Your question confuses me. He traded a 2014 SS for a 2017 SS.
Perhaps if you asked the owner instead of me.

Sorry, I meant to ask him.

Very nice! I have no intention of ever trading my 2012 SS, but I do really admire these 6th gen cars. They are incredible machines.

It’s an 8 speed auto, don’t know if they upgraded the SS since the model is going away. The thing shifts super quick and keeps the motor in the powerband when your foot is in it.

Nice. How are the paddles? I was impressed on how quick the SS shifted and revmatched. Although all the other shiftable autos I’ve driven were a decade older.

Haven’t used them yet, I’m honestly not a fan of paddles. I just put the car in gear and go. In the 2/3 years I owned my 14 Camaro SS auto, i touched the paddles maybe 5 times. I made one 1/4 mile pass with them and just letting the car shift was better than me working the paddles.

Love the blue and I’m so so glad you got a sunroof and are using it!

I see you got the sun roof. Nice touch.

Welcome to the club!! Got my 2017 1SS (piano black at the wife’s insistence) back in April and absolutely love it, no regrets. I’m almost starting to love it more than my 79 Corvette.

That is a vicious looking vehicle. If definitely makes the bumblebee gen body look comical. Granted the current Mustang model does the same to the 05 retro model as well. Hell even the charger went full on angry look. So uhmm Challenger?
It’s interesting to see just how much the early 2Ks have that 90s influence and styling to them

Guy at my work has an identical 2016 but its an RS. I think its great looking but was upset at the v6 but it actually is pretty powerful nowadays.

Can you explain the appeal of running a car that’s super consistent/ easy to drive on the strip? I can see super high powered stuff being fun.
I’ve drag raced before but autocross was so much more fun.

well I have always like drag racing because its so detailed oriented with little adjustments, while autocross appeals to some, it really doesn’t to me. I have considered track days though. Also I go racing with a group of friends and car club members so its just a fun full day event of racing and hanging out in the pits.

honestly didn’t really want it, but almost every 2SS in the state has it.

Fair enough. Good buy. I really liked the Camaro SS I test drove
